Choose one (1) Task at a time and work to complete the entire assignment... it may take more than one sitting, and that's okay. Each student and I will talk about what you've completed at least once a week!


Word Work (WW) Vocabulary Strategy Tasks

1. January 20th - 27th Vocab Work - Overall Assignment: Follow the 4 steps!

STEP 1. Identify (by matching) this week's vocabulary words, and create a a 2 column table with the words on one side and their definitions on the other side. See the example below.

IN YOUR COMPOSITION BOOK:

STEP 2: Once you complete this list, use the Decoding Your Vocabulary (Structural Analysis) page to decode this week's words according to their syllables, phoenemes, affixes, roots, and denotation: robot, defective, meteor, rotated, staggered, reversed, dangling, tokens. Then, study the words for the remaining time given for this round of the Daily 5.

STEP 3: Follow the links to Vocabulary and Spelling Activities, to practice your assigned spelling and vocabulary words. You'll need to use one of the classroom computers. The web address is:
